After 3 years of being closed to the public we were asked to come up with a design package for the refurbishment of Exploris Aquarium in Portaferry, N.I.
We were asked to keep the theme fun for younger visitors and to incorporate elements and features relative of the local surroundings into the native cold water tanks. Portaferry and the adjacent Strangford Lough has a deep history stretching back to Viking times, so it made sense to include this within the design.
Also included was an area for younger children with giant versions of seaside artefacts and a sunken pirate ship.
Later that year Shaun & Rach then joined the team at Nautilus to help build the Viking Area and the shipwreck for the main Ocean Tank.
