The Bovington Tank Museum is an incredible collection of Tanks and vehicles spanning military history in Dorset and, being local to DWD HQ, we were delighted to be asked to create some themed elements for the regeneration of one of the exhibition halls.
We were tasked with creating a scene based on the barn structures of Normandy which would provide a diorama to a collection of tanks used in the WW2 battle of Normandy, most notably the Tiger II which is one of the museums more prominent exhibits.
A mixture of timber constructions and sculpted concrete effects were used and scenic paint effects applied throughout. This was both an enjoyable and hugely interesting project to be involved with and this was particularly great as designs were created by the Tank Museum’s exhibition designer Richard Hale, previously Creative Director for Creative Solutions where both Shaun and Rachel began their scenic career many years ago.
