Melatopia was a virtual festival based on the real world London Mela festival. B
Built on the Sansar platform, the festival took place on November 7th 2020, a 12hr event featuring a wide variety of South Asian music, dance and culture, including Raja Kumari, Midival Punditz, Punjabi MC, Apache Indian, and Bobby Friction’s Fake News Orchestra, amongst many others.
Festival goers were able to watch the incredible performances in VR on PC as well as streaming on platforms such as Twitch, Facebook and Youtube and hopefully made up in a small way for the absence of the 2020 real world event.
