For phase 2 of the re-imagined WW2 exhibit at the Tank Museum in Dorset, we were asked to create themed elements and a Diorama set in the Dutch region of Walcheren. The main focus of the exhibit is a model of Rifleman Khan, a German Shepherd dog who was awarded the Dickin Medal (Victoria Cross for animals) after rescuing Lance Corporal Muldoon from drowning under heavy shell fire.
The sculpture of Khan was created by Jess Lucas, a Bournemouth Arts University student, for her final year project on behalf of the museum.
We also built and installed 2 Tank operator mannequins, a moveable rubble wall to protect a tanks fragile paintwork and various themed and scenic painted features.
